On March 22nd, the "Vietnam 2045" Academic Student Conference, co-hosted by SVUK and the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS), took place with resounding success. The event gathered a large number of students, researchers, and leading experts, creating an inspiring and multi-dimensional academic dialogue space.

Opening the programme, representatives delivered welcoming speeches emphasising the critical role of scientific research within the international student community. The event was honoured to receive passionate insights from the Embassy and community leaders.
Kicking off the conference, SVUK President Cao Quoc Dung highlighted the importance of asking big questions while still in school: scientific research is not just about academics—it is how the younger generation prepares to actively shape the country's future.

The conference was also honoured to receive a keynote address from the representative of the Vietnamese Embassy—Ms. Dao Thi Hong, First Secretary responsible for Education. Along with leaders of various associations, she affirmed the close attention of the community and diplomatic missions to the student research movement.

As the Research Presentation and Keynote Session began, the conference truly became a place where "ideas shine, and perspectives broaden." The presentations by Vietnamese students in the UK were the highlight of the day. The reports covered a wide range of globally trending fields: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Transformation, Renewable Energy, Finance, and Global Integration—all viewed through the lens of Vietnam's journey towards 2045.

Furthermore, the conference provided in-depth insights through keynote speeches from VIS experts. These presentations helped broaden the global picture and directly guided potential pathways for young researchers, with a particular focus on two spearhead areas: Science & Technology and Economics & Finance.

Following a rigorous evaluation by the Academic Board, the three most outstanding research papers were announced—and the reward went beyond a title. These three authors will represent the student community at the International Academic Forum at Oxford University in May 2026.
Congratulations to the three brilliant researchers:
A strategic highlight of the programme was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SVUK and VIS. This milestone marks the start of a comprehensive partnership between the two organisations. By combining SVUK’s youthful energy with VIS’s extensive experience, the collaboration aims to build a robust academic ecosystem for the Vietnamese community in the UK, creating a solid launchpad for future research and development projects.

"Vietnam 2045" has wrapped up for the day—but the questions raised today will continue to resonate. SVUK would like to sincerely thank all the distinguished guests, experts, speakers, and students for creating this special intellectual space together.
See you at SVUK's next exciting events!
